Sheza

34.jpg
Sheza is our 31 year old American Quarter Horse. She is the very horse that Savanah, Founder and Director, grew up with as a child. Sheza taught Savanah how to love and laugh again. After being apart from each other for 13 years, Savanah tracked Sheza down to be a part of the Wild Souls Ranch Program. The cattle rancher that owned Sheza gladly gave her back to Savanah, and she is now back to doing what she does best: loving, healing, and teaching children.

Cody

Cody is our 13 year old rescued off the track thoroughbred. He was not cut out to be a race horse, in his first and only race he finished 10 horse lengths behind the last horse in the race. Cody loves his new career with Wild Souls Ranch, where he enjoys all of the attention he deserves, and maybe a few carrots and mints from the hands of children who love him.

Tuff

Our 14 year old American Quarter Horse was happily donated by Paul Traficante of Redding, CA. Tuff is a retired rodeo team roping horse and was also used in reining and cattle ranching. Tuff has been known to have the personality of "Mr. Ed", and loves the kisses and hugs he receives at his new life of retirement working with children and living the life of leisure.

Isabella AKA "Bella"

Our Beautiful mare Isabella has retired from a life of dressage riding and was donated by Sherri carter of Eureka/Calistoga, CA! Bella is a 20 year old Arabian/Andalusian and joined the Wild Souls Ranch family June of 2016.

Dusty AKA "Dustin"

Dusty is our 15 year old, spunky little palomino pony! He has done everything from pony club, hunter jumper, and even working cattle cowboying at a local cattle ranch. Dusty helps teach our children the basics of riding and ground work, and is enjoying his life of leisure, grooming, and lots of treats. He joined the WSR family in 2016, and has been a beloved member ever since.

Cante

Cante, formerly known as Heat, is our matriarch Sheza's baby. He is a 15 year old AQHA Blue Roan. We love Cante so much because he has his mother in him. Very calm, present, and gentle with the WSR children. He is one of the newest members of the family, and joined our herd in February 2017.  Cante is the Lakota word meaning "heart". We picked this name because while his mother Sheza is forever the soul of our organization, Cante her son, is the heart.

Winchester AKA "Winnie"

Our newest addition to the herd, Winchester! Happily donated by Patti Fink of Eureka, CA. Winnie our 16 year old Appendix Blue Roan gelding is retiring from a life of dressage! At just over 17 hands tall, he is our lovable and gentle giant. Winnie has been a part of the Wild Souls Ranch family since June 2017.
