Meet Our Board of Directors

Beth Bray Board President

DIRECTOR OF FUND DEVELOPMENT at the Humboldt Senior Resource Center + Small Business Owner

“My interests and experience put me in a place to use my skills to help further the goals of Wild Souls Ranch.  I studied equine therapy as a Psychology Major at Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA, learned about the foster care system while volunteering as an advocate and board member for CASA of Humboldt, and have built a career in non-profit management and fundraising in Humboldt County, working in a variety of sectors from health care to education to conservation. In my free time I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my husband and cat.”

Nicole Genaro Secretary

BUSINESS CONSULTANT at Savvy Operating Solutions

“I am a mom, wife and business consultant. I am a Humboldt County native who has been involved with many organizations in the Eel River Valley. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from San Diego State University and have owned a variety of successful businesses. I believe my business experience lends a useful hand to the business end of Wild Souls Ranch. Mental health is an issue that cannot be ignored. By offering a place for youth to learn skills that will help guide them, teach them the importance of communication and positive relationships and show that they are important members of society, Wild Souls Ranch is in a unique position to not only help our youth now, but into their future. A little support and respect can make an immense difference in the life of a child. My hope is for a continued focus on the betterment of our youth community now and into their future.”

Walt Giacomini treasurer

“I am a grandfather, former teacher and coach, and retired rancher. I taught and practiced ranch management for most of my life. As a teacher and coach, I have always been interested in the education and growth of young people. As a rancher, horses have played a big part in day to day operations. I have also used them extensively in competition. Sound financial decisions and an understanding of business principles are an absolute requirement for survival in the cattle business. I hope that my business experience will be of value to Wild Souls Ranch.”

Peter Stoll, Ph.D. Board Member

DIRECTOR of Prevention and Intervention Services at Humboldt County Office of Education

“I have spent my entire career in mental health and education. My BA is in Social Welfare from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, OH, and my doctoral degree is in School and Counseling Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Early in my career I worked in settings that provided adventure-based counseling and for many years I worked with high school volunteers in remote wilderness settings doing backcountry conservation programs with the Student Conservation Association. Most of my career has been as a school psychologist/behavior specialist, and administrator, with the Humboldt – Del Norte SELPA and the Humboldt County Office of Education (HCOE). I am currently the Director of Prevention and Intervention Services at HCOE and manage a team that provides technical assistance and coaching for local school districts targeting positive school interventions, social emotional learning, inclusive discipline practices, and school based mental health and wellness. My wife is an educational specialist, and my daughter is in middle school. We enjoy music, wilderness, cooking, and adventuring together. I am proud to be a board member with Wild Souls Ranch and recognize the valuable opportunity they provide for children and families in our community.”
